The objectives of this research were to study: 1) the levels of motivation factors and work efficiency, 2) the influence of demographic factors on work efficiency, and 3) the influence of work motivation factors on the work efficiency of employees at the Department of Public Works and Transport in Savannakhet Province. The sample consisted of 92 employees working in the department. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using mean ( ), standard deviation ( ), and Multiple Regression Analysis.
The research findings revealed that: Levels of Opinions: Overall, the employees' perception towards work motivation factors was at a high level, with the highest means observed in responsibility ( = 3.59) and the work itself ( = 3.54). Regarding work efficiency, the overall level was also high, with cost-effectiveness ( = 3.77) being the highest efficient dimension. Influence of Demographic Factors: Demographic factors collectively explained 28.52% of the variance in work efficiency (R2 = 0.2852). Specifically, two variables had statistically significant influences: job position had a positive influence (beta = 0.2845, P < 0.01), whereas income had a negative influence (beta = -0.2865, P < 0.01). Influence of Motivation Factors: The five dimensions of work motivation factors could jointly explain 67.53% of the variance in work efficiency (R2 = 0.6753). When considering individual dimensions, two factors significantly and positively influenced work efficiency: responsibility (beta = 0.3551, P < 0.01) and the work itself (beta = 0.3120, P < 0.01).
